Party Poker calls itself "The King of Online Poker" and if customer service and popularity are anything to go by, that regal title might not be too far off the mark. The only thing that might not go down so well with some players are the cartoon-style graphics used to portray the players around the table, but if you can look beyond the visuals you'll find a great online poker site underneath.

The Party Poker software is a breeze to download and is really very simple to use. If you speak German, Russian, French or Spanish you can download versions in any of those languages, as well as in the English language default.

The main lobby makes to find the kind of game you want, with games organised first by type (cash games, sit and go tourneys, multi-table tournaments, etc.) and then by variation (Hold'em, Omaha, Stud, etc.) You then get a list of games available which can be arranged according to the name of the game, the value of blinds (these range from $0.02/0.04 right up to $25/50) or the number of players seated, to name just a few options. New Party Poker players can play at free tables to get used to the software, and those who want a change from poker can try their hand at one of the Blackjack tournaments that have recently been introduced here.

Party Poker certainly knows how to draw a crowd. It is home to the famous PartyPoker.com Million tournament which boasts a truly massive prize pool and gives virtually anyone a chance to win it. The 2006 event, with a total prize pool of $5,280,000, was won by a 22 year old college student. Another feature is Party Poker TV - the only broadband television channel totally dedicated to our favourite game.

As we said at the top of this review, customer service here is excellent. If you have a query or problem concerning your account, the software or anything else, you can contact the help team live online or via-email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We've put the customer service team to the test on more than one occasion and we're pleased to say that it passed with flying colours.
